Bachelor Aviation Management

Programme overview

Build a foundation in the commercial and operational organisation of civil aviation. The programme connects management, economics, airline and airport operations, service quality and digital analysis through case studies and applied projects.

ESAS Paris — Paris College of Aeronautics and Space. Duration: three years. Online and on-campus study arrangements are confirmed for the selected intake.

Study pathways

Airline operations and commercial management; airport operations and passenger services; aviation business and digital planning. Students share a common foundation before developing their project focus.

Learning outcomes

  • Explain how airlines, airports, ground services and other organisations interact within the civil aviation sector.
  • Analyse passenger demand, operating schedules and basic capacity constraints using structured data.
  • Prepare a simple aviation business budget and interpret costs, revenue and performance indicators.
  • Map an airport or airline service process and identify practical improvements to customer experience.
  • Assess an operational case in relation to safety responsibilities, regulatory context and environmental considerations.
  • Present an evidence-based aviation management project with a clear implementation plan.

Learning content and competency modules

  • Aviation industry foundations: organisations, business models, aviation geography and stakeholders.
  • Airline and airport operations: scheduling principles, passenger flows, ground services and coordination.
  • Business economics and finance: demand, pricing, accounting, budgets and performance indicators.
  • Service and people management: customer experience, communication, teams and service quality.
  • Digital aviation planning: spreadsheets, data visualisation, operational dashboards and process analysis.
  • Regulation and sustainable aviation: governance, safety-management concepts, environmental responsibilities and business ethics.

Study progression

  • Year 1: develop foundations in aviation, management, economics, quantitative methods and professional communication.
  • Year 2: apply operational, financial and service-management methods through airline and airport cases.
  • Year 3: integrate digital analysis and management methods in a final project, report and oral defence.

Projects and practice

Analyse an airline route or airport passenger-service process using public, synthetic or authorised data. Prepare demand and cost assumptions, compare operating options and propose a practical improvement.

Document sources, calculations, individual contributions and the limitations of the proposed plan. External placements depend on actual arrangements.

Teaching and assessment

Teaching uses guided cases, data exercises, operational scenarios, business presentations and project reviews. Assessment includes written assignments, analytical work, staged projects and a final report and oral defence.

The programme develops management knowledge and analytical practice. Teaching and assessment requirements are published before the relevant study period.

Entry requirements

Provide evidence of secondary education or equivalent study. Applicants should be prepared to work with numerical information and communicate clearly in the programme’s teaching language.

Submit education evidence, transcripts, a PDF CV and a motivation statement. Admissions reviews the application and confirms any additional requirements.

Completion and award

Students receive an institutional diploma after successfully completing the required courses, assessments and final project.

Career development

The subject supports development towards airline or airport operations support, commercial analysis, passenger services, ground-service coordination and aviation project support. Employment depends on individual skills, experience and employer requirements.
